Dancing For a Cause: DE Dancers Perform at the 5th Annual Hope Concert

On a perfect fall Saturday in Annapolis, our Dance Expressions’ company dancers took the stage at the 5th Annual Hope Concert, hosted by the Greater Annapolis Ballet. This inspiring event brings people together every year to shine a light on mental health and suicide prevention—all through uplifting performances and community connection. Additionally, 100% of the proceeds from the ticket sales were donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

The weather couldn’t have been nicer on October 18th, with clear skies and a nice breeze, at the Annapolis Town Center Pavilion. Our dancers performed beautifully, presenting four contemporary pieces – Roses, Read All About It, Glory, and Yellow Brick Road - and a fun jazz number – Love Train. Each piece brought something different to the stage, but in all of them, you could feel our dancers’ emotion and passion, which speaks to one of the biggest reasons we love dance: human connection through art. Our teachers and choreographers were beaming with pride.

We truly enjoyed coming together with fellow dancers and artists for such an important cause. The turnout was fantastic—family, friends, and people from different studios filled the audience, cheering on every performer. In addition to dancing, our group loved hanging out, writing uplifting messages for the Wall of Hope, and supporting all of the other dancers and artists who performed that day.

Congratulations to all of the performers, and big thanks to Margaret Russell from Greater Annapolis Ballet for all her hard work organizing and hosting this fantastic event.
