"Create Your Own Magic" Our 2025 Dance Recital
Renowned American dancer and choreographer, Agnes De Mille poignantly shared that “To dance is to be out of yourself. Larger, more beautiful, more powerful. This is power, it is glory on earth, and yours for the taking.” At Dance Expressions, it is a privilege to watch the souls of all our students embrace their beauty, power, and glory through dance. They have truly taken their opportunity to shine this year, and it has been nothing short of magical.
If you’ve ever walked into our lobby, you’ve probably experienced a bit of this magic.
You’ve seen our youngest dancers leave their classrooms with pride on their faces, and a sticker on their hand for a job well done. The one that was crying and waking up from her nap when she arrived, is now bouncing with joy. It is a magic moment when they are all embraced in adoring hugs from their parents and grandparents.
You’ve heard teachers who truly care, welcome their students with big smiles and loving kindness into their next class.
You’ve had to navigate your way around pre-teens who are there early, stretching and recalling their routines together. They are encouraging one another and helping each other in every way.
You’ve no doubt seen teenagers drop their phones, leap to their feet and greet their fellow dancers with astounding excitement and a huge group hug. It appears they’ve been reunited after years of being apart. In truth, they were together yesterday in ballet class. They genuinely love each other this much. It’s evidence that reaching our best potential is always a group project that brings us closer together.
And you’ve no doubt seen large sparkly bags overflowing onto the floor with stinky shoes, and half-eaten lunches or dinners. This, too, is evidence of a dancer’s decision to come prepared, ready to dedicate long hours to their art and passion. The stuffed bag is also a testament to their loving families, who sacrifice to provide them with this magical opportunity.
By simply stepping into the lobby, you’ve gained a sense of the magic that is truly happening behind the walls in the classroom. This weekend, we are pulling back the curtain to share what we’ve all been working on this year! We are beyond proud of all our dancers, teachers, and staff for another amazing, magical year of dance. Please join us this weekend as we celebrate the magic they’ve created.
