Black History Projects

Our National Honor Society for Dance Arts Chapter (NHSDA) is composed of 15 members, all of whom were inducted to the Dance Expressions Chapter based on two criteria. Members are recognized for their many hours of commitment to the their dance training as well as their commitment toward excellence in education by holding a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Our DE chapter is always looking for ways to serve the community and grow as individuals. This past February in honor of Black History Month, our members happily took on the challenge of learning more about important African American dancers and their contributions to society. After researching Black artists that inspire them, they then composed videos sharing what they learned to be posted both here on the blog and on our social media pages.

At Dance Expressions we firmly believe that Black History is History, not just in February but all year long. We are very proud of the dancers who participated in this project and their efforts to spotlight these incredible Black artists.

If you haven’t seen them already, please take a few moments to watch all of the exceptional videos made by our NDHS members. We are certain you’ll be inspired by both the exceptional Black dancers that have come before us in the dance world, as well as our next generation of bright and committed students. We believe they too have the power to make a difference in this world!
