Who's Excited About the Upcoming Dance Year?

YOUR TEACHERS ARE! We have been having a fantastic summer here at Dance Expressions! While we will be sad to see it come to an end in a few weeks, we are very excited about the upcoming 2023-2024 dance season! Our dedicated and caring teachers have spent time this summer preparing for another awesome year of dance. Recently, we met as a faculty to discuss our our goals and plans. We focused on some very important principles and want to share them with you here!

We discussed our WHY. Since 1991, it has been Dance Expressions’ mission to inspire the love of dance. We want to continue to provide our dancers with a well-rounded dance education emphasizing technique and artistry, not just choreography. We want our students to learn body awareness, correct alignment, quality of movement, and classical dance terminology, but we believe dance teaches even more than that. We know it will also help them develop poise, confidence, and discipline. Nothing makes us more proud than seeing these skills shine in our students' dancing and their everyday lives. On a personal note, we all reflected on previous dance teachers, who trained us well, lovingly mentored us, and helped us pursue our passion.  We want to make that same positive impact in the lives of our students.

We also delved into our HOW. Dance Expressions offers a classical education approach to dance training. All of our classes are professionally designed from a unified curriculum to be age and level appropriate, ensuring dancers learn proper technique in all disciplines with their long-term goals in mind. Regardless of their future intentions, all dancers deserve a quality dance education. Our teachers use age appropriate music and teach age appropriate movement. All classes are structured to begin with proper warm-ups and progression of movement, promoting healthy dancers, and protecting them from injury. Our teachers eagerly shared the creative and meaningful ways they plan to accomplish this in their classes.

After a fruitful time of teacher planning, we were left with only one question. WHEN can we start up again?! The good news is SOON! Fall classes begin Tuesday, September 5th. Early Bird registration has already begun. Be sure not to miss the discount by signing up for classes before August 15th. Registration is ongoing, but register early as our classes fill up!
